Open Water Scuba Diving Certification In NJ
Two Intuitive Students
The Open Water Scuba Diving Certification In NJ weekend was spectacular. Stephen and Michael showed their mastery of the skills they learned in the confined water class. The weekend was beautiful at Dutch Springs. In the spring, Dutch Springs isn’t that crowded and as the season wears on, there is a bigger influx of students. A lot of divers and students camp out there in the summer into the fall. Everywhere you look you would see tents and camping gear. People come from as far as Virginia to dive at Dutch Springs.
Water Clarity
The clarity of the water was above average and diminishes as the season wears on. By the middle of the summer, the student area is all scuffed up by the dock and the visibility is reduced substantially. We began the open water checkout dives with just swimming to the water above the platform in the student area and dropping down the line where the students held on to the line to bring themselves down to the platform.
Acclimation Dive
The first dive was just getting acclimated to the water and we did no skills. After ten minutes of swimming around the platform, we all held onto the line and made a slow ascent to the surface. The second dive involved mask flooding skills, regulator retrieval and recovery skill and dive flexible skills such as the tired diver tow.
Thanks To Our Assistant Carlos
A special thanks to Carlos Marques for taking videos of the students doing the skills. He was able to hover above the students and keep a firm hand on the video camera to take stable videos. Also a thank you goes out to Django Carlos who was very helpful. The Open Water Scuba Diving Certification In NJ weekend was a great success.
