How To Get PADI Certified
The question always comes up about how to get PADI certified?
What Is PADI?
PADI is the largest scuba certifying organization in the world. It stands for the Professional Association of Dive Instructors and the standards are universal throughout the entire world. So? We will answer the question on how to get PADI certified. There are many PADI instructors and PADI dive shops all over as far as you can imagine. All one has to do is find an insured, current PADI Instructor.
One can search online on PADI’s website: www.padi.com or one can do a Google search for PADI scuba instructors in their own area. Once a PADI instructor is contacted, the enrollment process begins. PADI forms are filled out, the student pays the enrollment fee for the class and the date is set for the confined water and academic portion of the PADI Open Water certification. The second part of how to get PADI certified is proceeding to the open water checkout dives which is repeating the same skills that were done in the pool but in the open water. These open water checkout dives are either done in ocean in a shallow cove area, a lake or a quarry.
How Long Does This Take?
The whole process takes a minimum of three days or can extend into weeks depending on the PADI scuba instructor. So, hopefully this article explains on how to get PADI certified. Again, the first step is contacting a PADI Open Water scuba instructor and then the journey into the world of scuba will begin to take you into a world you never dreamed of. Once you are hooked into scuba, there is no turning back.
