Truk Lagoon (Chuuk), Federated States of Micronesia-2008

In February/March 2008 I decided to dive Truk Lagoon which is a wreck divers haven where I dove 16 World War II wrecks in 4 days. Well, what can I say about the wreck diving here? It is the “Mecca Of Wreck Diving”. It was nothing but spectacular. I dove 16 wrecks in 4 days. These wrecks were Japanese hulk ships blown up by the Americans in 1944 within a period of two days called “Operation Hailstone”. There was still unused ammunition, artillery, saki bottles, etc. Superb preserved maritime history in high visibility waters. I will probably never do wreck diving like this again unless I go back. The plane ride (21 hours) was tough but worth it. I definitely want to go back here.
