NJ Indonesia Scuba Diving Trip 2013

Land Based Diving VS Liveaboard Diving

I usually do liveaboard scuba diving but this time did land- based. The NJ Indonesia Scuba Diving Trip 2013 has been a rewarding experience. I did some boat diving and shore diving.

Sites Visited In Indonesia

Some of the dive sites were: Nusa Penida & Manta Point, Padang Bai ,Tulamben -Liberty Wreck, Tulamben – Batu Kelebit, Amed, Kubu Anyar. The van rides to and from the dive sites were very long. Some were two hours each way. That was the only drawback. If you are going to do the land based dives, do a safari where you overnight at the particular dive site.

Flying There

The flights from North America were as follows: Newark to Japan, Japan to Singapore and then Singapore to Denpasar (total for close to 24 hours, not including layovers). At night I was able to experience the local flavor of Bali, Indonesia which was very interesting.

Nightlife

Bali has a hustle and bustle with everyone getting around in scooters. The only drawback about staying in the center of Kuta was that the dive sites were close to two hours away which made the NJ Indonesia Scuba Diving Trip 2013 a little bit exhausting with the long van rides.

Dive Shop Used

The dive shop called Bali Diving went out of their way to cater to me and a select few other divers. The dive groups were small and sometimes it was just one dive guide to a diver which made it more personable. The plane ride from North America was very long. I had to fly first to Tokyo, Nurita to Singapore then onto Denpasar. The flight time not including layovers was close to twenty-four hours.
