Part 2: Open Water Checkout Dives
In part 2, you will take what you’ve learned from part 1 and apply it to an open water setting. You’ll have to complete the same skills from the pool setting in open water.

The open water checkout consists of four open water dives over a two-day period. Beginner scuba divers are supervised by professionals.
If you don’t want to complete part 2 in Dutch Springs, PA, you can ask for a referral so that you can complete this portion in a different location. For example, some choose to complete it while on vacation.
New Jersey scuba diving certifications are performance-based and not bounded by time. Once you finish the course, you will become a PADI open water diver!
